O.K., so Jerry Garcia has said that the reason he switched from playing bluegrass to rock 'n' roll was because of The Beatles. The Warlocks was the name of The Grateful Dead before 1966. For some reason...hmmm...they changed it then. They also have a curious picture commonly referred to as "Steal Your Face". Here it is: Bowie kind of adopted it for "Alladin Sane": but you can read all about that on my "Alladin Sane" post in the Paul=Ziggy thread: 60if.proboards21.com/index.cgi?board=document&action=display&thread=1104730687&page=2Anyway, here are the lyrics to "He's Gone" by The Grateful Dead: "Rat in a drain ditch, caught on a limb, you know better but I know him. Like I told you, what I said, Steal your face right off your head. Now he's gone, now he's gone, Lord he's gone, he's gone. Like a steam locomotive, rollin' down the track He's gone, gone, nothin's gonna bring him back...He's gone. Nine mile skid on a ten mile ride, hot as a pistol but cool inside. Cat on a tin roof, dogs in a pile, Nothin' left to do but smile, smile, smile!!!! Now he's gone, now he's gone Lord he's gone, he's gone. Like a steam locomotive, rollin' down the track He's gone, gone, nothin's gonna bring him back...He's gone. Goin' where the wind don't blow so strange, Maybe off on some high cold mountain chain. Lost one round but the price wasn't anything, A knife in the back and more of the same. Same old, rat in a drain ditch, caught on a limb, You know better but I know him. Like I told you, what I said, Steal your face right off your head. Now he's gone, now he's gone Lord he's gone, he's gone. Like a steam locomotive, rollin' down the track He's gone, gone, nothin's gonna bring him back...He's gone. Ooh, nothin's gonna bring him back." Nothing indeed.

Didn't the dead form at a San Francisco area Veteran's Hospital?
Add the LSD and it reeks of MK beginnings to me.

Interesting, Dezom...
Actually, the Dead formed in Marin County at a pizza place...
How's about these lyrics:
"That's It For The Other One"
The other day they waited, the sky was dark and faded, Solemnly they stated, "He has to die, you know he has to die." All the children learnin', from books that they were burnin', Every leaf was turnin' ; to watch him die, you know he had to die.
The summer sun looked down on him, his mother could but frown on him, And all the others sound on him, but it doesn't seem to matter.
And when the day had ended, with rainbow colors blended, His mind remained unbended, he had to die, you know he had to die.
Spanish lady comes to me, she lays on me this rose. It rainbow spirals round and round it trembles and explodes. It left a smoking crater of my mind I like to blow away. But the heat came 'round and busted me for smiling on a cloudy day.
Comin', comin', comin' around, comin', around, comin', around, in a circle Comin', comin', comin' around, comin' around, in a circle, Comin', comin', comin' around, comin' in a circle.
Skippin' through the lily fields I came across an empty space, It trembled and exploded, left a bus stop in it's place. The bus came by and I got on, that's when it all began, There was cowboy Neal at the wheel of the bus to never ever land.
Comin', comin', comin' around, comin', around, comin', around, in a circle Comin', comin', comin' around, comin' around, in a circle, Comin', comin', comin' around, comin' in a circle.
And when the day had ended, with rainbow colors blended, Their minds remained unbended, He had to die, Oh, you know he had to die
This ones kinda weird...:
"Brother Esau"
My brother Esau killed the hunter, back in 1969, Before the killing was done his inheritance was mine. When at first my brother walked away, Before a weary band, Esau gave his sleeplessness for a piece of moral land.
Our father favored Esau, he was eager to obey, All the wild commandments, the old man shot his way. But all this ended when, my brother failed at war, He staggered home and found me in the door.
Esau he's on rollerskates today, And he make a statement to someone in L.A. Sometimes at night I dream, he's still that hairy man, Shadow boxing the apocalypse, wandering the land.
Esau holds the blessing, brother Esau holds the curse, I was thinking that the blame was mine, But suspected something worse. The more my brother looks like me, the more I understand, The silent war it bloodied both our hands. None of us can win. Outside that dream, still that hairy man. Well sometimes at night I think I understand. Shadowboxing the apocalypse, wandering the land

Well, a quick google reveals that Garcia's songwrting partner Robert Hunter and Ken Kesey the bands' biggest early promoter were both subjects of CIA's LSD experiments at the Menlo Park Veterans' Hospital.
Anyway, the Bible story of hairy Esau involves one son impersonating the other to fool their blind father. There's a similar subplot in King Lear, the culminaiton of which is heard at the end of "I Am The Walrus"

Great stuff Semolina!
And for the first time ever I've finally read an explanation of the name "Grateful Dead" that makes sense. I never could buy that "Turn On, Tune In, Drop Out" crap of Timothy Leary's as the reason for their name.

Well, the fact that the colours just happen to be the french flag has to be significant, non? Maybe Paul did go (scuse the term) "mental" through shock therapy, or torture or maybe some completely differnt way, but we all know the bowie-beatle/lennon connection, and his stage name "Alladin Sane" is "a lad, insane" surely, when did bowie play this character? I'm assuming he's another Ziggy Stardust Persona, which songs went with "Alladin"?

Pay attention EACH written shape on MMT booklet comincs... So you're saying the "Fool on the Hill" writing is like the feminine version of the "Rubber Soul" album writing, which you say was male. OK; got it.

The same "sign" on Paul's head "Electricity" made Paul as a fool? And maybe this lightning bolt is the crash of thunder heard after the first verse of "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey", as well as the meaning of, "Well the rain exploded with a mighty crash" in "Band On The Run". Paul got hit with lightning in the storm while they were making their escape? And could the line in UA/AH: "I believe I'm going to rain" mean he involuntarily wet himself, or worse, that body parts went flying like rain? (Bad enough that he had IBS!) So it wasn't his captors who made him "half the man he used to be", but "Mother Nature"? And so now he's "Mother Nature's Son"? Just a stream of consciousness thing going on there. I didn't mean to get away from the Grateful Dead. Of course, you might BE grateful to be dead if you were struck in the head with lightning. Better dead than being a lad insane from a lightning hit, and no banana to grasp either.

The Dead actually have a song called "France". Way down in the south of france all the ladies love to dance Kick their heels up in the air snap their fingers for romance While the gentlemen compare blonde or black or auburn hair Check the motion and the style oh, you know they take their while Hey, to make the motion more complete, yeah, to make it more a treat Club d’jour is where to go come on down and see the show When the rhythm’s really right you can burn it down tonight When the singing’s really fine sweet as spanish sherry wine When the club can’t contain the beat it just rolls out in the street Spills on down the avenue bringing dancers to their feet. When it’s good as it can be it gets better wait and see Oh, these folks don’t ever sleep till they’re passed out in the street Way down in the south of france all the ladies love to dance Clap their hands and walk on air, yeah, the feeling’s really there Won’t you take a little taste raise it to your charming face? When the rhythm’s really right you can burn it down tonight When the singing’s really fine sweet as spanish sherry wine Go on take a chance, the ladies do love to dance.

DEAD KENNEDYS LYRICS
"I Am The Owl"
I am your plumber No I never went away I still bug your bedrooms And pick up everything you say It can be a boring job To moniter all day your excess talk
I hear when you're drinking And cheating on your lonely wife I play tape recordings Of you to my friends at night
We've got our girl in bed with you You're on candid camera We just un-elected you
[Chorus] I am the owl I seek out the foul Wipe 'em away Keep America free For clean livin' folks like me
If you demonstrate Against somebody we like I'll slip on my wig And see if I can start a riot Transform you to an angry mob All your leaders go to jail for my job
But we ain't the Russians Political trials are taboo We've got our secret Ways of getting rid of you Fill you full of LSD Turn you loose on a freeway
[Chorus]
Send you spinning Send you spinning Send you spinning all over the freeway Spinning on the crowded freeway Spinning on the freeway Spinning on the freeway Spin Spin Spin-Lookout
The press, they never even cared Why a youth leader walked into a speeding car In ten years we'll leak the truth By then it's only so much papaer
Watergate hurt But nothing really ever changed A teeny bit quiter But we still play our little games
We still play our little games We still play our little games We still play our little games We still play a lot of games
I am the owl

Molech Revealed
The Great Owl of the Bohemian Grove is typically identified as Moloch, the chief god of the Ammonites who lived in Ammon, an eastern section of Canaan. This form of worship spread to a few other cities in the region, including Tyre and Carthage, where, for example during a siege of the city in 307 B.C., two hundred boys of the best families were burned to death in sacrifice to Moloch. Some sources claim that "passing through the fire" meant being quickly passed through flames, which would not harm the child, as a means of dedicating the child to the god. However, there is archeological evidence of actual child sacrifice in areas corresponding to Moloch-worship. [7] This location, known as Gehenna, among other names, became the basis for the popular notion of Hell, which actually doesn't exist, although a person who commits evil deeds on Earth will suffer in the afterlife because of them, and in future lives on Earth. This is not intended as retribution, but as an evolutionary lesson, as well as compensation. My research into the nature of this idol indicates that it resembled a seated human with a bull's head, with its arms extended forward. Sitchin indicates that the significance of the bull is that it represents the astrological sign of Taurus, and the "New World Order" which was established at the beginning of the last age of Taurus in about 2000 B.C. Specifically, at that time, Marduk was appointed as "Bel," which means "great god" - i.e. leader of the pantheon of Anunnaki "ET-gods." Previously, according to Sitchin, Enlil was "the Bel," as in "Brotherhood of the Bell." When Marduk became Bel, there was a trend toward monotheism, and all of the gods in the pantheon became aspects of Marduk. Thus, the term Bel-Moloch referred to Moloch, but as an aspect of Marduk. I assume this was intended to reflect the spiritual hierarchy, the beings of which are aspects of God. The pattern of evidence indicates that the mode of worship adopted for this god was based on his association with fire and the Sun:
"Worshiped as a sun god, Moloch embodied the savage and devastating aspects of the sun's heat." [8]
"Here comes the Sun-King"...
The Grove's Babylonian/Druidic Connection
There is no shortage of evidence that the rituals conducted at Bohemian Grove (the worst of which probably occur during the off-season, when the outer circle is gone) are derived from the rituals of ancient Babylon, Canaan, Phoenicia, and Carthage. Alex Jones (infowars.com) videotaped the Cremation of Care ritual, and his website contains transcripts, which include specific references to Babylon and "Goodly Tyre." In fact, the Grove in and of itself is an indication of a Druid heritage. Although information on Druidism is sketchy because of the eradication of the Sun Mysteries from civilization beginning in the fourth century A.D., there are some sources which trace them back to Phoenicia and the Babylonian pantheon. The following source indicated that it was "handed down," implying by means of oral tradition.
"Political and religious suppression forced the Druids to go underground. Many thought that the religion had disappeared, but it survived, handed down within families and villages to resurface again in the early eighteenth century." [11]
Here's yet another indication of a connection between Bohemian Grove and Druidism:
"For decades, there have been vague rumors of weird goings on in Bohemian Grove in more remote parts of its 2200 acres. Reliable reports claim Druidic like rituals, druids in red hooded robes marching in procession and chanting to the Great Owl (Moloch.)" [11a]
Alex Jones of infowars.com, who videotaped the proceedings, has proven that such vestments are worn, and the transcripts of the ritual prayers indicate a Druid-like veneration of trees. But the Owl is not Moloch. This should suffice as evidence that the rituals performed at the Bohemian Grove are ultimately derived from Babylon and its offspring - Canaan, Phoenicia, and Carthage, and as a clue to the identity of the Great Owl.

Interesting that the squirrells left dead things for the owl, dezom. How about this, Stanley Owsley, contains owl in his name, sort of; all the letters are there: "Owsley Stanley was the first underground chemist to mass produced high-quality LSD in the 1960s. Born Augustus Owsley Stanley III, but known to most simply as Owsley or Bear. He served 18 months in the Air Force during the 50s. In 1963 he began attended U.C. Berkeley where he tried his first psychoactive and decided to produce methedrine. Police eventually raided his lab in 1965 but found only precursors. Owsley moved to L.A. to pursue the production of LSD. He used his methedrine proceeds to buy bulk lysergic acid and produced somewhere between 100,000 and 10 million doses of LSD. Once finished, he returned to the bay area where he supplied LSD to Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters for their acid tests. Through them he also met the Grateful Dead in 1966 and began supporting them both financially and as a sound man. Owsley soon hooked up with Tim Skully and together they continued to produce LSD as well as STP (DOM). Their product, known by a variety of names, including "Owsley Acid" and "Orange Sunshine", was produced in large batches and either pressed into tablets or encapsulated. In 1967, Owsley's lab was raided and he was eventually sentenced to 3 years in prison. The same year, he officially shortened his name to "Owsley Stanley". Owsley Stanley went on to do more sound work for the Grateful Dead after he was released from prison. He now lives in Australia. " kinda looks like the early Faul pics... Also interesting to note that "billy" is good friends with Tony Blair and rumoured to be a Bush supporter, both members at the grove. I wonder if Faul goes there, I mean he could register under his real name.
