Totally gracemer, but i'm pretty sure Jimi wasn't a cash cow, bearing in mind he was a well respected artist, but he didn't have a US number one until after he had died, and in the UK i think he had two No. 1's tops, i don't think he was too commercial in terms of records, live he was always a star attraction of course

Agreed that he wasn't in the same ballpark with the Beatles, but 50K wasn't bad money in those days.
The music business is populated with murderous, power mad psychos who are more interested in control over their talent and the masses and spreading their evil messages (in the Beatles' case drugs & rebellion) in order to please their OWN masters, than in making money, though they want to do that too. I'm speculating Paul either told them what they could do with their mind control or was quietly trying to find new a new label and was found out and punished. At that point he couldn't be allowed to live and talk!!! The other 3, after seeing what happened to Paul, went along, but not happily (except for Faul). In fact it seems they were never really happy again.
It reminds me of JFK trying to get rid of the Federal Reserve. You know how he ended up. These people are utterly ruthless. Their main business isn't making money. Their desire is to change the world in order to control it and they will crush anyone who gets in their way.
I've had the creeps ever since I read the Hendrix thing.
