Hey guys! I've been reading this forum for a pretty long time now, and there's one thing that confuses me. It's about the Illuminati. Everyone here is going on about Illuminati mind control and stuff. But I always thought the Illuminati were scientists. I got this from Dan Brown's book "Angels and Demons" He's the same guy who wrote the The Da Vinci Code. According to the book, religion and science are always in some kinda war. Like, for example, how the universe was created. The Church believe it was God, while scientists believe it was the Big Bang (It's been awhile since I read the book, so I apologize if I have some of this info wrong). It was like this big ongoing battle between the Church and this group of scientists. So they scientists formed they're own group: The Illuminati. It was their own path to enlightenment. This is my own understanding of the Illuminati. I'm not saying what I'm saying is right, I'm just saying this what I think the Illuminati really are. If anyone knows anything else about this, or has read Angels and Demons, maybe you could help me out with this. BTW, this is my second post (my first was in the Hello, Goodbye section). I've wanted to join this forum for awhile now. I hope I can make lots of friends here!

That is one interpretation of what the illuminati would be, but certainly it is not the prevailing one... I think most people who believe in a group like the illuminati that secretly steers the world to their aims would say that the leadership in BOTh science AND religion would have to be involved for it to be as effective...

I don't understand what are the aims of the Illuminati? Or is that still a mystery?

So do you mean both science and religion would have to be involved in my interpretation, or yours?

I'm saying that if a group existed like the illuminati, it wouldn't be just one of the sides fighting the other, it would include hidden members of the leadership of BOTH science and religion.... and "your" interpretation seems to me to be more "Dan Brown's" interpretation... my interpretation is what I get from reading a lot of conspiracy theory... illuminati is like a catch all term for the "powers that be", whoever they are, and they are usually imagined as being more all-encompassing than being like a secret group of scientists fighting religion...

Thanks, defhermit, I think I understand what you're saying now. I did some research on the Illuminati on Google, and now I know a bit more about it. I also found this website, you guys might find it interesting: www.illuminati-news.com/art-and-mc/index2.htmIt's about rock and roll and mind control. Anyway thanks again

"Illuminati" IS a catch-all term for the powers that be, for one, and is the most common usage of the word. Most people mean the international bankers and the politicians they control, and they wouldn't be wrong. It can also mean any or all of the 13 "bloodline" families who believe they are decended from Jesus and think they ought to be in control. The word can also be applied to most secret societies, such as the Masons and Skull & Bones.
Their actual goal is world domination with themselves in charge. They plan to reduce the world's population by about two-thirds through war, famine, etc. They follow Lucifer and some actual go through a Luciferian initiation. Some outright worship him. They are looking forward to his arrival in person on this planet and plan to turn this world over to him and think they will be his lieutenants. We call him the Antichrist. They call him "the One."
The Illuminati are into everything--government, banking, science, religion, drug running, military, music -- all forms of media -- whatever will aid them in controlling the minds of men. They are unbelievably evil. twisted people.

Oh yeah, if it's on Google, it must be true... And that's EXACTLY why I've switched over to using "Truegle."

I use Scroogle myself.. However, I believe that if one were to study the game of Chess, one might gain an insight into the viewpoint of the 'Illuminated Ones'...the ones who move the real pieces.. The pieces controlled are Royalty, Bishopry, Miltary and Masonry. Black and white, zeros and ones, control and domination, ritual and sacrifice... Seems inhuman really..

Correction: The 13 "Bloodline" families ARE direct decendants of Lucifer....not Jesus Christ!

Oh, ok, descendents of Lucifer eh...? Can someone please move this topic to fantasy land? What do you guys think this is, Buffy The Vampire Slayer for Christ's sake?

Simmer down now. Yes, this belongs over on the Spiritual or Other Conspiracies board, but it looks like we're done here. Helterskelter, you might want to take a look on those boards and join in.
