Re Phil Ackrill Hello, I'm new here. Firstly I have to say I'm very sceptical but I'm certainly not here to troll or be disrespectful in anyway - I'm genuinely fascinated in the PID theory having discovered it a few months ago. I can't pretend to have the depth of knowledge that most of you here have, but I discovered something regarding Phil Ackrill that I've not seen before. It seems he is currently the accountant for the re-formed Move (see link below). There are no photos of this 'Phil Ackrill' but it seems reasonable to assume that it's the same man; I remember reading that he (apparently) went into accountancy after his stint in Denny Laine and the Diplomats, a band which also featured Bev Bevan, who was and still is in The Move. Also 'Ackrill' is quite an unusual surname so can it be merely a coincidence? I apologise if this is already common knowledge and has been explained re PID, but as i said I've not seen it mentioned before. www.themovelive.com/contact.html

He is not and has never been well known in his own right. Why would there be any photos of him in the public domain from after that period? In 2008 it seems he is the accountant for The Move. I suppose it would be possible to contact him via their website but what would you ask him? - "Hello Mr Ackrill, would you mind emailing a recent photo of yourself. Why? I just want to prove that you're not Paul McCartney." Hmm, could be awkward. In the meantime I'll keep looking for more recent images of Ackrill and if I do manage to find any I'll post them here.

Wings, Klaatu, ELO are all around Phil and The Diplomats.
I agree when you call "The Diplomats" an "obscure band". So that was before for "The Senators" too. Take note of the name of the two bands.
And what about the "BeatlePhil" of "How do you sleep?" video?

Ok, re Phil Ackrill again! No-one has actually addressed the point of my first post - that someone called Phil Ackrill is currently the accountant for The Move; the lack of post Denny Laine and the Diplomats photos of the man isn't really the issue for me.
So does anyone have any thoughts about The Move thing? Here are mine for what they're worth...
If Phil Ackrill is McCartney's replacement then the only possibilities regarding The Move's accountant are:
a) It is just a coincidence that they have the same name b) The name 'Phil Ackrill' was put on the website to throw PID people off the scent c) ' Paul McCartney' does the accounts for The Move
Just trying to be logical about the whole thing.

I can't see your point. Please give us a photo of "the last" Phil Ackrill so we can say.

I thought I'd try Facebook and to my surprize I've found a Phil Ackrill. Is it THE Phill Ackrill? Well, he does look like an older version of the person in those old photos to me. Perhaps a little younger looking than you'd expect, I'm not sure, but there's a definate resemblence.
I was about to post the pic here but thought better of it; it seems like an invasion of the guy's privacy. Search Phil Ackrill on Facebook though, and his is the only profile that comes up.
