According to 60IF, Billy wasn't their first choice. And they had almost given up finding a replacement until Billy came along so, based on that, it doesn't appear that the replacement was planned beforehand. .... and Billy needed so much plastic surgery again AFTER his entrance in the Beatles ... not fully ready when he was "called" ..

A Mal Evans' brother ( the first on the right) in that Band ? Why not actual Mal Evans? Someone knows where he was in 1963?

....and... 60IF doesn't tell that Bill was Canadian but: "His name was William Sheppard and he was with the Canadian Provost Corps, a division of the Canadian Military Police. "....and... YELLOW and RED were the official colors of the Canadian Provost CorpsYELLOW and RED were the colors of the SGT. PEPPER CD BOOKLETYELLOW and RED were the colors of the shoes worn by Faul in Mal Evan's videos. ....and... YELLOW and RED were pant colors of the character on the "A Collection of Beatles OLDIES ...but Goldies" ... so was that Billy too? .... and was "OLDIES" referred to Billy's actual age? ... .... just another bass drum with a message from Beatles ...

.... and that character has his left hand darker than his left one (I don't know the reason why) JUST LIKE Billy on Sgt. Pepper photo session ...

That's a really good one Lucy. As Lennon looks back to his early life in Liverpool, so Billy looks back to his military life in Canada. Life at the top must really suck in some respects.

Nice comparison, but my eyes are not *clicking* with the guy sitting in the chair... its the guy standing to the left of the guy sitting in the chair... blurry pic, I know, but perhaps something is there? anyway to see this guys face more clearly and compare it to a "faul" pic?

Yes you are right! That guy seems to be more similar to the original Paul. But the voice similarity was fundamental as well as to agree with the "radical" change of life. Billy Shepherd (close-up standing) was the leader of that group. He was "our" Sgt. Billy Pepper Shears and then.... Faul forever... P.S. (An "incoming" errata corrige: that on the White Album Poster was Billy SOON AFTER the first round of plastic surgery - chin nose eyes hair color- There he was still convalescent.)

Okay BeatlePaul, you just jogged my memory... Did anyone confirm the person in one of the pics on the site of the 60if document of the man sitting at the piano as a good 'voice imitator' Who was that? This guy sitting in the chair (Billy Pepper) looks like the man sitting at a paino in the 60if document... hmmmm any way to compare that one?

Mal Evans was "originally" a bouncer at the cavern club where he met the beatles during the Liverpool Mersey days.

Hello, I have not posted in a while.
To be honest, I think the man furthest to the left who is standing on the Billy Pepper photo looks the most like Faul, rather than the guy sitting. Can a facial comparison be drawn between Faul and the guy standing on the left?

Although the camera angle is slightly different each feature falls on top and THE JAWBONE SHAPE IS THE SAME. It's really I-N-C-R-E-D-I-B-L-E what "they" did with plastic surgery

I totally don't get that photo comparison SK. Faul is the same as who? BTW, I thought the guy standing on the left was a better pre-surgery Faul as well.

"We found ... a few contenders for Paul but the main problem was to find one with the most similar voice possible."
